Did You Know?
Supplies
Your child is required to have certain things on a daily basis here at school. There are some things that are "brought and left," while others are to be "brought home and returned daily."
It is important that everyone has these items. When your child does not have these items, it makes it difficult for him/her to fully participate. So please ensure that they have their necessary supplies.

Brought & Left Items
Change of clothes: Please bring a full set. A full set includes: socks, underwear, shoes, shirt, and pants.
Slippers: These need to have some sort of non-stick and durable soles. There are 2 reasons for this: 1) We have hardwood floors, which are beautiful but slippery! 2) We do fire drills. If the need to exit the school immediately comes up, the children need to have their feet covered. Walmart sells great slippers for around 6 dollars. I also have several school slippers that the kids are able to use. I am always searching for extras, let me know if you would like me to keep my eye out for an additional pair.

Brought Home & Returned Daily
Place mat & Napkin: This helps us stay GREEN! Packing lunch in glassware or reusable containers instead of plastic bags using refillable water bottles and a cloth place mat and napkin help us waste less!
Water bottle: For lunch, and also when we go outside, or on walks and field trips!

Field Trips
Please do not pack food that needs to be heated as we tend to stay out to eat our lunch and the place we visit may or may not have a way to heat up their food.
If you child does not attend a day that there is a scheduled field trip, please know that you are welcome to join us that day. Do to planning and safety reasons, make up days are not available on Field Trip days. If you have any questions, please contact me.

Make Up Days
My goal is to provide make up days when your child is absent. In order for us to plan accordingly, a one week minimum notice to add a make up day is needed. We all have emergencies and I am committed to helping, so please contact me directly by email or phone to ensure that communication is made.
Emergencies
As you know, we in California live in “earthquake country” where we know a major earthquake can happen at any time. Other potential emergencies also create the possibility that children may have to remain in the protective environment of the school for an extend time. Please bring the following items on our back to school night.
A COMFORT BAG should be a 1 gallon sealed plastic bag clearly marked with your child’s full name. Inside should be the following items:
• 2 small bottles of water
• 2 high energy, long-lasting, no-salt snack items (eg. granola bar, raisins)
• A 3x5” card with family emergency contact information on it.
• A family photo with a note from you on the back.
• For younger children: a full change of clothing
At the end of the school year the bag will be returned to you – hopefully unused. We’ll ask you to refresh your supplies at the beginning of the next school year.
